At the Seaside (What was it like in the past?)

Authors:  Louise Spilsbury, Richard Spilsbury

Synopsis:  Part of a series that introduces children to the concept of the past and the fact that everyday objects have changed over time, this book examines the history of leisure and work at the seaside. The author discusses how life in the past differs from life today, looking at the topic chronologically in decades from the 1900s to the 2000s. The book includes a timeline running across the bottom of the spread to indicate which decade is being discussed. Case-study boxes provide anecdotes from the past.
